Patient FAQ
Straight answers about cost, insurance, what to expect and whether chiropractic and acupuncture can help with what you’re dealing with.
What conditions does a chiropractor treat?
At Sorrento Valley Chiropractic in San Diego we commonly treat back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches and migraines, whiplash and auto-accident injuries, sports injuries and repetitive-strain problems. We combine chiropractic adjustments with acupuncture, massage and corrective exercise.
Do I need an appointment, or do you take walk-ins?
We recommend booking an appointment so we can give you dedicated time. Call 858-455-7654 or use our online form. We are currently accepting new patients and same-week visits are usually available.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Your first visit includes a consultation, a thorough exam and a review of your health goals. The doctor explains what they found and a clear care plan before any treatment. In most cases you receive your first adjustment that day.
Do you treat auto-accident and whiplash injuries?
Yes. We treat whiplash, neck and back pain and other injuries following car accidents, and we can help with the documentation auto-accident insurance claims require. Early evaluation helps prevent long-term problems.
Where are you located?
We’re at 5440 Morehouse Dr, Suite 1700, San Diego, CA 92121, in Sorrento Valley — convenient to Sorrento Mesa, Mira Mesa, La Jolla, Del Mar, Carmel Valley, Scripps Ranch and Poway, with free parking.
How much does a visit cost?
Your cost depends on whether you’re using insurance and your specific plan. Cash-pay rates are available. Call 858-455-7654 and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
Are adjustments safe?
Chiropractic care has an excellent safety record and is one of the most widely recommended non-drug approaches to musculoskeletal pain. Our doctors tailor technique to your body and comfort, and refer out when something is outside our scope.
Do you offer acupuncture and massage too?
Yes. Along with chiropractic we offer acupuncture with a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapy, so much of your care can happen in one place.
How often will I need to come in?
Early on, a couple of visits a week often builds momentum fastest; as you improve, that tapers down. We’ll give you an honest plan based on your exam — not a long mystery contract.
Move better. Start with one appointment.
Same-week visits are usually available. Tell us what’s going on and we’ll get you scheduled.
